Overview
We are looking for a strategic and driven Account Director to help lead business growth in our Canadian region. As an account director, you will be responsible for growing and managing strategic client relationships. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to key accounts, driving organic and inorganic growth through consultative discussions, solution development and operational excellence. This role requires an understanding of the Canadian and global energy market, including challenges and opportunities facing operators every day.
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding CMG’s market share.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy and account plans within the Canadian region to meet revenue, retention and growth targets.
- Work closely with internal teams (technical, marketing, and customer success) to deliver tailored solutions.
- Analyze market trends and competitive landscape to refine strategies.
- Drive revenue growth and meet or exceed sales targets.
- Represent CMG at industry conferences, events, and client meetings.
Requirements
- 5-10 years of proven experience in account management and sales, preferably in software solutions for the energy industry
- Strong network within the Canadian industry and involvement with SPE, CHOA and other energy-related associations
- Experience managing large accounts, with proven success in selling complex solutions across multiple teams and stakeholders
- Strong understanding of the Canadian energy market
- SFDC experience
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Education or experience in petroleum engineering, reservoir engineering, geology and / or production engineering is preferred
