Our 98,000 employees operate a network of 2,650 offices and laboratories, working together to enable a better, safer and more interconnected world.</em></p><p>Job Description</p><p>SGS is looking to hire a<br>Certified CGSB Level 2 Inspector (VT, UT, MT)<br>as an independent contractor for a QA/QC assignment that will start in January 2026 and last one year.</p><p>Scope of work includes:</p><ul><li>Review of workmanship on steel fabrication for conformance with project specifications and Review of fitting Dimensional Checks</li><li>Visual Examination - 100% of all welds.</li><li>Ultrasonic Test Method - 100% of all complete penetration welds.</li><li>Magnetic Particle Test Method – 100% of all filet welds.</li><li>Inspection of Bolts of Slip-Critical and not slip critical or pre-tensioned connections</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Must be a Certified CGSB Level 2 Inspector (VT, UT and MT).</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of shop inspection experience (vendor surveillance).</li><li>Ideal candidate would have steel structure inspection experience.</li><li>Detail oriented and well organized</li><li>Strong analytical and communication skills</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team, as well as independently</li><li>Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.</li><li>Work schedule: 8 hours a day, starting in January 2026 for at least a year.</li><li>Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.</li><li>The contractor will need to provide their own equipement.</li><li>The contractor needs to be an independent contractor (IC)</li></ul><p>Additional Information</p><p>SGS is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and as such we recruit, hire, train, and promote persons in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression and Indigenous status, or any other characteristics protected by law.</p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.
