For our client in Toronto a trusted, licensed Ontario general contractor specializing in <strong>restoration, renovation, and high-rise residential projects</strong>, including building envelope upgrades, façade rehabilitation, structural repairs, and interior/exterior refurbishments.</strong></p><p><strong>We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced <strong>Construction Estimator</strong> to support the successful delivery of high-rise residential, commercial, and institutional <strong>restoration and renovation projects</strong>. This role is critical in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, coordinating with project teams and subcontractors, and ensuring all bids are aligned with budgets, timelines, and regulatory standards. </strong><span ><strong>The position requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to work under deadlines while ensuring alignment with budgets, timelines, and regulatory standards.</strong></span></p> <p><strong>Job Title: Construction Estimator<br>Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA)<br>Employment Type: Full-Time<br>Industry: Restoration / Renovation / Construction Management</strong></p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul> <ul> <li> <p>Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for restoration and renovation projects (façade, balconies, garages, waterproofing, interior refurbishments, etc.).</p> </li> <li> <p>Perform quantity take-offs and apply cost data for labour, materials, and equipment.</p> </li> <li> <p>Solicit, review, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure scope coverage and competitive pricing.</p> </li> <li> <p>Prepare comprehensive bid packages, proposals, and tender submissions in collaboration with senior management.</p> </li> <li> <p>Maintain and update historical cost data, unit pricing, and subcontractor performance records for future use.</p> </li> <li> <p>Support Project Managers by providing cost breakdowns, clarifying scope assumptions, and identifying risks or value-engineering opportunities.</p> </li> <li> <p>Track bid progress and ensure timely delivery of all required documentation.</p> </li> <li> <p>Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and liaise with stakeholders to validate scope and estimate accuracy.</p> </li> <li> <p>Stay up to date with market conditions, construction methods, and restoration best practices.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ensure compliance with Ontario Building Code, safety requirements, and project specifications when preparing estimates.</p></li></ul></ul> <p><strong>Qualifications & Skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>3+ years of experience in estimating, preferably in <strong>restoration, renovation, or high-rise residential construction</strong>.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and restoration techniques (building envelope, waterproofing, concrete, masonry, interior finishes).</p> </li> <li> <p>Proficiency in estimating software (PlanSwift, Bluebeam, Timberline, or equivalent) and advanced Microsoft Excel.</p> </li> <li> <p>Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a high attention to detail.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong communication and negotiation skills for engaging with subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids under strict deadlines.</p> </li> <li> <p>Health & safety awareness and familiarity with documentation requirements.</p></li></ul><p><strong >Education & Certifications:</strong></p><ul><li><span >Diploma or degree in Construction Estimating, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.</span></li><li><span >Additional certifications in restoration (e.g., IICRC, Building Envelope courses) are considered an asset.</span></li></ul> <p><strong>Compensation & Benefits:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <p>Competitive salary, based on experience.</p> </li> <li> <p>Paid vacation and statutory holidays.</p> </li> <li> <p>Supportive, growth-oriented company culture with opportunities for professional development.</p></li></ul><p><strong></strong></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
