<p><b>What we need from you</b></p>
<p>Centre Directors promote excellence in the delivery of Kepler Academy’s core foundation. You will promote and provide a positive work environment, relevant feedback, communication to employees and families, proper nutrition, and plan daily activities. You will be accountable for the management of daily operations, overseeing and leading the work of all staff at the childcare centre, and ensuring business results for the centre while operating in a professional manner to meet quality standards.</p>
<p><b>Responsibilities</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Manage the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the centre such as marketing and people management.</li>
<li>Operate in a professional manner and ensure Kepler standards are met and compliance maintained.</li>
<li>Work with Human Resources on recruitment and retention strategy based on licensing requirements and centre needs.</li>
<li>Provide oversight and direction to employees in the centre in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Coach, mentor, and develop staff, including new employee onboarding and career development planning and opportunities.</li>
<li>Create a workplace culture consistent with the organization's mission, vision, guiding principles, and values.</li>
<li>Provide effective performance feedback through recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action with Human Resources when necessary.</li>
<li>Maintain employee work schedules including training, vacations, paid time off, coverage for absenteeism, and overtime scheduling.</li>
<li>Build strong relationships with families through regular ongoing communication.</li>
<li>Engage in community involvement and interaction to build strong partnerships.</li>
<li>Maintain transparent communication through meetings, one‑on‑one sessions, email, and regular interpersonal communication.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Qualifications</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum 3 to 5 years of Early Childhood experience in the Childcare industry.</li>
<li>Previous experience in a management or assistant manager role.</li>
<li>Post‑secondary education in a business‑related field, or experience with finances and budgeting is an asset.</li>
<li>Child Development Certificate issued in the Province of Alberta, Level 3.</li>
<li>Valid Standard Child Care / Level C First Aid certificate.</li>
<li>Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check issued within the past 6 months.</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Additional skills</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop a department and its staff members.</li>
<li>Business acumen.</li>
<li>Proven leadership in promoting a positive workforce environment.</li>
<li>Strong work ethic.
</li><li>Excellent organization and time‑management skills.</li>
<li>Excellent written and spoken communication skills.</li>
<li>Computer literacy: strong Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn other systems.</li>
<li>Solid knowledge of the Provincial Child Care Regulations.</li>
<li>Business knowledge of basic economics, budgeting, accounting principles, and practices is necessary.</li>
