<p>Our growing Toronto client (please see at the end of JD for candidates living out west) who is a leader in the Geothermal industry is looking for a Drilling Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-5 years management experience managing teams on sites in Southern Ontario. You must have strong leadership skills with the ability to execute decisions quickly. This position does require local travel all through Southern Ontario. The following is the responsibilities:</p> <p>As a member of our fulfillment team, you will be responsible for overseeing the geothermal drilling operations at all actives sites, including site set up, daily operation, and demobilization. You will be expected to maintain the highest standards of safety and quality on every project, while helping to provide clients with the best experience throughout the drilling activities and beyond. We want to ensure that our clients LOVE working with us and that we exceed their expectations whenever possible.</p> <p>You will report to the VP of Fulfillment as part of the leadership team to ensure that our staff and project partners (subcontractors) complete their defined scope efficiently and effectively based on defined specifications and timelines. You will liaise with clients to confirm project timelines, manage costs and budgets, and ensure communication and documentation are consistently maintained. Essential Job Functions</p> <p>Your responsibilities will include:</p> <p>•Establish a safety-first culture for all construction projects;</p> <p>•Manage drill crews to ensure consistent quality and performance, including attending job sites frequently (i.e. daily) or as required to understand working conditions and provide direct guidance;</p> <p>•In collaboration with the VP of Fulfillment, establish procedures for all phases of drilling operation - including surface drilling, main hole drilling, loop installation, grouting, countersinking, and equipment maintenance - to ensure consistent performance on all sites;</p> <p>•Work closely with the site leads to create site specific plans, to be updated regularly as project conditions evolve</p> <p>•Set clear goals for productivity and efficiency, and maintain accountability throughout the project timeline;</p> <p>•Manage concerns and objections from all drilling staff and take prompt action to maintain performance accomplish the agreed objectives;</p> <p>•Assist the VP of Fulfillment to manage project budgets, ensuring they are closely monitored to maintain good financial health of the operations;</p> <p>•Champion the onboarding and training of new employees to the drill sites and establishing a healthy culture of safety and respect;</p> <p>•In collaboration with the VP of Fulfillment, establish training procedures for new staff to ensure efficient onboarding and consistent performance;</p> <p>•Review specifications and other construction documents for constructability, site access and recommend changes to maximize the ultimate success of the project;</p> <p>•Coordinate with the project management team, subcontractors, and the client, including site staff, on scheduling, coordination, and other critical items to ensure the project is completed on time and on budget;</p> <p>•With the guidance from our leadership team, resolve unforeseen site conditions, unplanned interferences, contract discrepancies and other construction conflict problems and disputes between contractors and site staff;</p> <p>•Maintain/manage project documentation files;</p> <p>•Assist the VP of Fulfillment to update daily production, key performance indicators, and Quality Control documentation and reporting procedures as needed;</p> <p>•Respond to questions and concerns from stakeholders are handled promptly and professionally;</p> <p>•Submit daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports to various stakeholders;</p> <p>•Use word processing, spreadsheet, database, and scheduling software applications to prepare correspondence, reports, schedule, and other documents related to the project;</p> <p>•Uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy to provide an exceptional client experience;</p> <p>•Willing and able to travel within Ontario.
