Local support is strong for urgent situations, with supportive specialist colleagues at Markham Stouffville Hospital available for consultation. Each day consists of three 8‑hour shifts. The patient mix is typically CTAS3&4, with 1–2 CTAS1&2 per day. On‑site lab, X‑ray, CT and ultrasound are available 24/7, with ultrasound Monday‑Friday and after‑hours availability at Markham Stouffville Hospital.</p><p>Compensation: Competitive hourly rate with higher rates on weekends and holidays. Summer weekends in July and August offer an additional hourly rate bonus. Short and long‑term opportunities are available.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Provide emergency services during three 8‑hour shifts daily.</li><li>Triage and manage patients, primarily CTAS3&4, while handling 1–2 CTAS1&2 cases per day.</li><li>Collaborate with on‑site laboratory, X‑ray, CT, and ultrasound services, and consult with specialist colleagues at Markham Stouffville Hospital as needed.</li><li>Participate as part of a collegial medical community consisting of CCFP, CCFP‑EM and FRCPC doctors across emergency, inpatient, family medicine and walk‑in clinics.</li><li>Engage in continuing medical education focused on advanced rural skills and collaborate with nursing and allied health professionals.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications/Experience</h3><ul><li>Independent license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) to practice as an Emergency Physician.</li><li>Certification with the College of Family Physician Canada (CFPC), Emergency Medicine (preferred) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), Emergency Medicine.</li><li>Demonstrated clinical experience, expertise and knowledge in emergency medicine.</li><li>Exceptional interpersonal, collaboration, communication, organizational, team‑building and conflict‑management skills.</li><li>Demonstrated problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.</li><li>Interested and qualified physicians are encouraged to submit an expression of interest and current Curriculum Vitae to Dr.TeshaCasella, Chief, Uxbridge Hospital, and to Manager, Medical Administration, Trwhyte@oakvalleyhealth.ca.</li></ul><h3>Contact Information</h3><p>Interested and qualified physicians are encouraged to submit an expression of interest and current Curriculum Vitae to: Dr.TeshaCasella, Chief, Uxbridge Hospital; Manager, Medical Administration, trwhyte@oakvalleyhealth.ca.</p><h3>About Us</h3><p>Oak Valley Health is one of Ontario’s leading community health care organizations.
