The business manufactures, leases, and repairs railcars in North America for railroads and industrial shippers. Procor Limited is headquartered in Oakville, Ontario; UTLX is headquartered in Chicago.
</p><p>Location: Chicago OR Oakville-based hybrid position requiring at least 2 days in the office per week.</p>

<p>ENTERPRISE SOLUTION ARCHITECT</p>
<p>This is an opportunity to lead the design and implementation of an enterprise-wide IT foundation leveraging Microsoft’s SaaS ecosystem. The candidate will drive digital transformation initiatives as a highly skilled Azure Architect focused on cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure. The role involves leading the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based solutions that enable data-driven decision making, seamless integrations, and improved business performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and secure cloud and data architectures aligned with business strategy.</p>
<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available solutions in Microsoft Azure.</li>
<li>Drive standardization and reuse of industry-leading technology across the organization.</li>
<li>Architect enterprise solution landscapes in Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Azure Cloud, and connected ecosystems.</li>
<li>Expert in design, development, and deployment of highly scalable APIs.</li>
<li>Standardize and promote simplicity in enterprise architecture focusing on scalability, reusability, security, and best practices.</li>
<li>Architect end-to-end cloud solutions—including cloud applications, data architecture, storage, compute, and networking with cost, performance, and security optimization.</li>
<li>Produce documentation, design specifications, and best-practice guides for cloud and data architecture.</li>
<li>Implement cloud infrastructure best practices for data integration, disaster recovery, and high availability.</li>
<li>Lead migration of on-premise applications and data to the cloud with minimal business disruption.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Digital Transformation & Strategy: drive cloud-first strategies and align initiatives with business goals; identify and implement emerging Azure data technologies; foster a data-driven culture.</li>
<li>ERP Integration & Data Interoperability: design seamless integrations between Azure and ERP systems; enable data access and visualization using Power BI; support legacy applications (VB.NET, AS/400, Smalltalk, JSP, Cognos, StarQuery, DB2, Dynamics AX, SQL Server).</li>
<li>Automation: understand industrial automation systems (PLC, SCADA, MES); integrate with Azure services (IoT Hub, Digital Twins, Data Factory); enable real-time data collection and predictive maintenance.</li>
<li>Leadership: coordinate cross-functional teams, support project plans and roadmaps, communicate risks to leadership, and mentor team members.</li>
<li>Training & Knowledge Sharing: provide guidance on Azure architecture, data management best practices, and related tools; stay updated on cloud tech and Azure services.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.</li>
<li>Experience:
<ul>
<li>10+ years in software development and architecture.</li>
<li>8+ years hands-on experience with Azure PaaS services (Azure Functions, App Services, AKS, Storage, SQL, Cosmos DB, Event Grid, API Management).</li>
<li>10–15 years of programming experience with SQL, C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core (Python is a plus).</li>
<li>Strong experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and Azure Logic Apps for no-code/low-code solutions.</li>
<li>Data architecture, data integration, ETL, and related technologies; experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Power BI.</li>
<li>Knowledge of design patterns and architectural principles (GoF, SOLID, DRY, DDD, Hexagonal). </li>
<li>Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Bicep, ARM, Terraform) and CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).</li>
<li>Ability to communicate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences; experience leading digital transformation projects.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Soft Skills: strong analytical/problem-solving abilities, excellent communication, leadership and mentoring capabilities, and a drive for continuous improvement.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Preferred Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert).</li>
<li>Agile or Scrum certification for managing cloud/data projects.</li>
<li>Experience with machine learning, Gen AI, RAG, and data pipelines integration with ML workflows (desirable).</li>
</ul>
<h3>Working Conditions</h3>
<ul>
<li>Chicago OR Oakville-based hybrid position requiring at least 2 days in the office per week.</li>
<li>Occasional travel may be required for on-site project implementations or client meetings.</li>
</ul>
