<p><strong>Pay:</strong> CA$40,000.00 - CA$55,000.00 per year</p> <p>Job description:</p> <p><strong>Note: </strong>This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at the Laval QC office.</p> <p><strong>Note: </strong>The qualified candidate for this position must have prior family law experience and be fluent in both French and English.</p> <p><strong>About Our Client</strong></p> <p>Our client is a leading family law firm dedicated to helping clients navigate complex and sensitive legal matters. They pride themselves on professionalism, empathy, and achieving strong outcomes for families.</p> <p><strong>Job Description</strong></p> <ul><li>Format, proofread, and prepare legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence</li><li>Schedule mediations, client meetings, and court hearings</li><li>Manage attorney calendars and track deadlines</li><li>Handle sensitive client calls and requests professionally</li><li>Organize and maintain case files (both paper and digital)</li><li>Assist with preparing evidence, including cataloging emails, texts, and photos</li><li>Enter attorney and paralegal time for billing and prepare draft invoices</li><li>Communicate with court staff and file agreed orders, defaults, and other legal documents</li><li>Provide general administrative support to attorneys and paralegals</li></ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul><li>Bilingual fluency in French and English (required)</li><li>Previous experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary in family law (minimum 2+ years preferred)</li><li>Knowledge of family court rules, e-filing systems, and case management procedures</li><li>Strong proofreading, formatting, and organizational skills</li><li>Ability to multitask and manage time-sensitive responsibilities</li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice software</li><li>Canadian citizenship preferred (valid work authorization required at minimum)</li></ul> <p><strong>Why This is a Great Opportunity</strong></p> <ul><li>Work with an established family law firm in a supportive environment</li><li>Build meaningful client connections while assisting in important family cases</li><li>Professional role with growth potential in legal support</li><li>Stable, on-site full-time position with competitive pay and benefits</li></ul> <p><strong>JPC - 415</strong></p>Browse Jobs in Canada by City
