We are known for delivering safe, high-quality, and cost-effective projects through innovation, collaboration, and strong client relationships.</p><p><br /></p><p>Position Summary</p><p>Lauren Services is seeking a Intermediate Instrumentation & Controls Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of experience and a valid P.Eng designation. This role involves leading and supporting the design and execution of both instrumentation and control systems for industrial projects in the Oil & Gas, Power, and Petrochemical sectors. The position is hybrid with flexible hours and offers opportunities for professional growth and leadership.</p><p><br /></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Lead the development of I&C engineering deliverables including:<ul><li>Instrument indexes, loop diagrams, wiring and termination drawings</li><li>Control panel layouts and control system architecture diagrams</li></ul></li><li>Analyze P&IDs and process documentation to inform instrumentation and control strategies</li><li>Specify and select field instruments and control devices based on process and design requirements</li><li>Develop control philosophies, cause & effect matrices, and system narratives</li><li>Support field activities including site visits, commissioning, and start-up</li><li>Prepare material specifications, data sheets, and conduct technical bid evaluations</li><li>Review vendor documentation for compliance with instrumentation and control requirements</li><li>Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards (CEC, ISA, CSA, API, etc.)</li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, designers, and project managers</li><li>Maintain compliance with Laurens health, safety, and quality management systems</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Systems Engineering</li><li>Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in good standing</li><li>Minimum 8 years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering within Oil & Gas or EPCM environments</li><li>Strong knowledge of field instrumentation, control devices, DCS/PLC systems, and control panel design</li><li>Experience with control system architecture and integration</li><li>Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code and relevant industry standards</li><li>Excellent communication and teamwork skills</li><li>Project management experience is an asset</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>Skills & Attributes</p><ul><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously</li><li>Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills</li><li>Proactive and collaborative approach to engineering execution</li><li>Comfortable interacting with engineers, designers, and stakeholders</li><li>Familiarity with DBMs, project planning, and scheduling from an I&C perspective is an asset</li></ul><p><br /></p><p>What We Offer</p><ul><li>Hybrid work model with flexible hours</li><li>Supportive and collaborative team environment</li><li>Opportunities to work on impactful energy sector projects</li><li>Career development and advancement pathways</li></ul></p></p>Create Your Resume First
