<p><strong> Legal Assistant – Real Estate </strong><p> Type: In-Office | Permanent Role | South Edmonton </p><p></p><p> </p><p> Our client, a respected home builder, is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant to provide administrative support to their in-house legal department. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established organization with a collaborative, professional team environment. </p><p></p><p> </p><p><strong> The Opportunity </strong></p><p> Reporting to the Director of Legal Services, the Legal Assistant will provide support in residential lot and home conveyancing, financial lot payouts, and general administrative functions. </p><p></p><p></p><p><strong> Key Responsibilities </strong></p><ul><li> Manage lot conveyancing requirements, including tracking sales, holdbacks, and preparing related reports. </li><li> Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and documentation related to lot and home sales. </li><li> Draft and process mortgage registrations, discharges, and conveyance documents. </li><li> Assist with land acquisitions and registration of lots in the builders’ name. </li><li> Prepare financing security documents and proofread legal materials. </li><li> Maintain the legal filing system and manage off-site storage of closed files. </li><li> Create and maintain an updated database for legal files, ensuring timely follow-up on closing, anniversary, and expiration dates. </li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><strong> Qualifications </strong></p><ul><li> Diploma or Degree in Legal Administrative Services (or equivalent experience). </li><li> Minimum 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with exposure to conveyancing or real estate transactions. </li><li> Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint). </li><li> Satisfactory criminal record check required. </li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><strong> About You </strong></p><ul><li> Organized and able to manage multiple priorities effectively. </li><li> Strong verbal and written communicator with excellent attention to detail. </li><li> Active listener who approaches tasks with professionalism and care. </li><li> Team player who contributes positively to shared goals and outcomes. </li></ul><p> </p><p></p><p><strong> What Makes This Role Unique </strong></p><p> This position supports an <strong> in-house legal team </strong> , managing residential conveyancing files exclusively from the <strong> vendor side </strong> . You’ll work only on the company’s own lot and home sales—no external client or buyer files, allowing you to focus, develop your expertise, and be part of a collaborative internal team. </p><p></p><p></p><p><strong> Work Environment </strong></p><p> This is a full-time, in-office position based in South Edmonton. Regular business hours apply, with occasional overtime as needed. </p><p></p>
