<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong><p>The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Long-Term Care provides compassionate, resident-centered care in a supportive and collaborative environment. Working under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor or designate, the LPN is responsible for delivering nursing care, supporting residents’ emotional well-being, and contributing to a safe and respectful living environment.<br /><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Perform assessments and develop individualized care plans.</li><li>Administer medications and monitor therapeutic effects.</li><li>Provide personal care and comfort to residents, including pre- and post-operative support.</li><li>Monitor and document residents’ progress and collaborate with the healthcare team.</li><li>Support respiratory and intravenous therapies as required.</li><li>Educate residents and families on health and safety practices.</li><li>Maintain infection control standards and apply aseptic techniques.</li><li>Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care planning.</li><li>Provide direction and support to care aides and other staff.</li></ul><hr /><strong>Qualifications:</strong><ul><li>Graduation from a recognized Practical Nursing program.</li><li>Current registration with the <strong>BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)</strong>.</li><li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.</li><li>Ability to perform CPR and other emergency procedures.</li><li>Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.</li><li>Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.</li></ul><strong>Work Environment:</strong><ul><li>Rotating shifts </li><li>Opportunities to build long-term relationships with residents and families.</li><li>Collaborative, team-based care model.</li><li>Facilities may include dementia care units, respite beds, and hospice services.</li></ul>Orientation: 1 D - D shift is 07:00 – 15:00 and N shift is 23:00 – 07:00. **temp description: 1 now and 1 more for Oct 1 start</p></p>
