The ideal candidate will have approximately 2 years' experience in fund administration, accounting, audit, financial operations, legal, compliance or policy analysis roles, with due diligence experience in alternatives investing considered an asset.</p><p><br></p><p>The role will involve two primary aspects:</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Researching business practices of investment managers, service providers and other stakeholders across a diversity of jurisdictions, complexities, maturities and other characteristics.</li><li>Development of oversight and governance practices within the risk management function.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>The ideal candidate will be creative and enthusiastic, at once highly detail-oriented and excellent at understanding various tactical and strategic contexts, highly professional in demeanor, with outstanding communications abilities (e.g., interviewing, presenting, writing) and sound judgement. Proficiency with data management will be a key component of the role, as will familiarity with best practices across a variety of functions (e.g., executive strategy, trade processing, cybersecurity).</p><p><br></p><p><b>Primary Responsibilities</b></p><p><br></p><p>Operational Due Diligence</p><ul><li>Conduct operational due diligence on a wide spectrum of investment opportunities across asset classes such as public and private equity and credit in a variety of structures and jurisdictions.</li><li>Prepare supporting research and material for Prime Quadrant's Investment Team and contribute to decision-making.</li><li>Write reports based on analysis of business risk and internal controls.</li><li>Participate in meetings with third-party managers, service providers and stakeholders.</li><li>Acquire thorough knowledge of industry standards and best practices regarding business process design, operational effectiveness and efficiency.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Risk Management</p><ul><li>Contribute to the enhancement of Prime Quadrant's business processes.</li><li>Maintain and enhance proprietary databases.</li><li>Design oversight procedures to pre-emptively identify investment or business-related risks.</li><li>Assist with investigations into risk incidents or violations of regulatory or legal requirements.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Key Attributes</b></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Impeccable honesty and integrity.</li><li>Strong work ethic and dedication to achieving excellence.</li><li>Highly accurate, organized and efficient at time management.</li><li>Curious and inquisitive, with a genuine interest in business governance, process and discipline.</li><li>Respectfully skeptical, with a truly open mind.</li><li>Team player who shares Prime Quadrant's core values, the PATH: Purposeful, Authentic, Tenacious and Humble.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Strong academic background, with preference to degrees related to business. However, keen candidates with degrees from other fields with relevant professional experience will also be considered.</li><li>CFA, CAIA or other relevant investment-related designations will be considered an asset.</li><li>Canadian Exempt Market Dealing Representative certification expected to be obtained within one year of hiring.</li><li>2 years of experience in fund administration, accounting, audit, financial operations, legal, compliance, policy analysis or due diligence roles in alternatives investing considered an asset.</li><li>Good understanding of a wide range of financial instruments as well common alternatives strategies and wealth management considered an asset.</li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office, Salesforce and Addepar would be considered an asset.</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication.</li><li>Willing to travel as required.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Compensation</b></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Competitive base salary plus up to 15% annual performance-based bonus.</li><li>Career advancement with demonstrated performance.</li><li>Health benefits via participation in the firm's health spending account.</li><li>Participation in firm incentive programs in effect.</li><li>Up to $1,000 per year in relevant continuing education reimbursement.</li><li>Up to $600 per year towards wellness.</li><li>3 weeks of vacation per year, and 1 volunteer day per year (in addition to 2 personal days).</li></ul><p><br></p><p>This job posting is for an existing vacancy.
