<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><b>Overview</b><br />The Direct Support Facilitator has the goal of helping build great lives for the individuals, <br />their families and the community we serve by fostering an enriching and responsive <br />community participation environment. Working as members of a larger connection of <br />supports, <strong>Direct Support Facilitators – Community Participation</strong> will collaborate with other staff members to implement meaningful development plans and <span >programming/activity</span> <br />schedules that flow from a client centered philosophy.<br><br><strong>Hours of Work :</strong><strong>Monday, Tuesday & Friday – 8am – 4pm</strong><br><br><b><i>Qualifications</i></b><ul><li>DSW, SSW or Social Sciences degree or diploma in a related field.</li><li>Two (2) years recent experience working with adults with a developmental disability preferred.</li><li>Strong commitment to the individuals supported by Community Living Hamilton</li><li>Positive attitude and a true appreciation for diverse abilities</li><li>A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.</li><li>Valid First Aid/CPR Certification</li><li>Valid NVCI Certification</li><li>Additional consideration will be given to candidates possessing:</li></ul><p></p><b>Core Competencies:</b><p><strong>Core Competencies</strong></p><p><strong>Advocating for Others</strong></p><p>Helping builds understanding and awareness to remove barriers and achieve inclusion.</p><p><strong>Working with Others</strong></p><p>Communicating to reach understanding in others and yourself and then working together to meet shared goals.</p><p><strong>Creativity, Problem Solving & Decision Making</strong></p><p>Understanding a situation, exploring options and making the best choice to achieve success.</p><p><strong>Helping Others Achieve</strong></p><p>Providing support and guidance to others, building on strengths and encouraging others to work towards their goals.</p><p><strong>Initiative</strong></p><p>Taking the action needed to follow through on plans and act on opportunities and address concerns.</p><p><strong>Interpersonal Relationships & Respect</strong></p><p>Dealing with people in a sensitive and respectful manner.
