Job Description
<p> We are currently seeking a dynamic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of Powerline Technician - Journey Person. The successful candidate will be required to perform weekly standby duty, emergency and planned overtime on a regular basis. <p></p><p><b> RESPONSIBILITIES: </b></p><ul><li> Construction, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the electrical distribution system, including overhead and underground of various voltages </li><li> Perform live line work on overhead and underground electrical distribution lines </li><li> Weekly standby duty; emergency and planned overtime </li><li> Manage ESA permits and necessary locate requirements </li><li> Service and trouble-shoot electrical related issues </li><li> Ensure all work meets ESA and internal requirements </li><li> Responsible for completing work/service orders within the allotted time frames </li><li> Ensure all installation/service work is done according to quality standards </li><li> Report and communicate according to company procedures </li><li> Assist with work overflow as needed </li><li> Follow all company policies and procedures </li><li> Adhere to all company safety policies; report all near-miss and incidents immediately </li><li> Complete paperwork as required – job Planning, tailboards, timesheets, traffic planning </li><li> Performance of all work within health and safety regulations, company standards, industry standards and applicable regulatory codes </li></ul><p></p><p><b> SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: </b></p><ul><li> Certification as a Journey person Powerline Technician </li><li> Excellent knowledge of the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground power lines </li><li> Must be literate and able to perform manual mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division </li><li> Ability to read blueprints and interpret drawings </li><li> Dedicated to maintaining a safe work environment for the protection of fellow employees and the general public. Must have an excellent safety record and continually demonstrate safe working habits and mechanical aptitude </li><li> Understand and practice EUSR Safety Rules, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, ESA requirements and all other applicable legislation and safe work practices, current certificates in First Aid, CPR and WHMIS </li><li> A valid Ontario’s Driver’s License in good standing with Class “DZ” in good standing </li><li> Ability to work in a physically demanding environment that includes heavy lifting, stretching and pulling, climbing, working at heights and extreme weather conditions </li><li> Proven interpersonal skills and practical experience effectively dealing with challenging customers and situations using tact and diplomacy </li><li> Must be able to demonstrate focus and attention to detail. Must be organized </li><li> Basic computer knowledge </li><li> Must be in excellent physical condition to perform the duties. </li></ul><p></p>Create Your Resume First
