<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p><p><strong>Procurement & Order Management Specialist</strong><br /><strong>Location:</strong> Hamilton<br /><strong>Salary:</strong> $65,000-$75,000 per year plus bonus incentives</p><p>Our client, a well-established custom manufacturer based in Hamilton, is looking for an experienced <strong>Procurement & Order Management Specialist</strong> to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys taking ownership of purchasing activities, vendor relationships, and inventory management.</p><p>You’ll play a key role in keeping production running smoothly and efficiently by managing supplier relationships, coordinating materials, and supporting continuous improvement across the supply chain.</p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong><p><strong>Procurement & Order Management</strong></p><ul><li><p>Manage purchasing documentation, including requisitions, POs, cancellations, and customs forms.</p></li><li><p>Confirm orders with suppliers, resolve delays, and ensure timely deliveries.</p></li><li><p>Coordinate purchase orders with production schedules to minimize downtime.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Supplier & Vendor Relations</strong></p><ul><li><p>Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.</p></li><li><p>Negotiate pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules.</p></li><li><p>Resolve issues related to quality, cost, and delivery discrepancies.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Inventory & Data Management</strong></p><ul><li><p>Conduct inventory cycle counts and monitor stock levels.</p></li><li><p>Accurately input and maintain purchasing and inventory data in the ERP system (Global Shop Solutions).</p></li></ul><p><strong>Operational & Strategic Support</strong></p><ul><li><p>Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager and production team to manage material flow.</p></li><li><p>Support the implementation of procurement procedures to improve scalability and efficiency.</p></li><li><p>Assist with supplier transitions and logistics during acquisitions.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Cost Management & Continuous Improvement</strong></p><ul><li><p>Identify opportunities for cost reduction through better sourcing and material optimization.</p></li><li><p>Research and assist in sourcing new materials and suppliers.</p></li></ul><strong>What You Bring</strong><ul><li><p>Post-secondary diploma or degree in purchasing, supply chain, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).</p></li><li><p>5+ years of purchasing experience in a custom manufacturing environment.</p></li><li><p>Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production floor operations.</p></li><li><p>Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools.</p></li><li><p>In-depth knowledge of purchasing and material planning principles.</p></li><li><p>Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.</p></li><li><p>Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (asset).</p></li><li><p>PMAC or SCMP designation (asset).</p></li></ul></p></p>Create Your Resume First
