<h3>About NISJ</h3>
<p>The Northern Institute of Social Justice (NISJ) was founded in 2010 and is a leader in northern-focused social justice training. We develop and deliver short training courses and awareness sessions tailored for:</p>
<ul>
<li>Frontline and other workers across public, private, and non-government sectors</li>
<li>Members of quasi-judicial boards and tribunals</li>
<li>Members of the general public with an interest in social justice topics</li>
</ul>
<p>NISJ works with subject-matter experts who have northern knowledge and experience and partners with national training organizations, such as the Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute (CTRI). Our training is practical, grounded in northern realities, culturally diverse, and relevant to frontline work.</p>

<h3>About the Role</h3>
<p>The Program Coordinator will help develop, organize, and support the delivery of NISJ training programs. You will work closely with instructors from public, private, and non-profit sectors; partner training organizations; and learners to ensure courses remain responsive, relevant, and rooted in the North’s values and challenges.</p>
<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Coordinate development and delivery of training programs and awareness sessions</li>
<li>Liaise with instructors, curriculum developers, and external partners</li>
<li>Support recruitment, registration, and learner engagement processes</li>
<li>Monitor program effectiveness and recommend improvements</li>
<li>Ensure alignment with NISJ’s mission, principles, and Yukon University’s strategic priorities</li>
</ul>
<h3>What We’re Looking For</h3>
<p><b>Required:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in program coordination or project management (preferably in education, training, or community development)</li>
<li>Education and experience in social work, criminology, political science, or other social sciences</li>
<li>Strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders</li>
<li>Understanding of Yukon and northern contexts, or a demonstrated willingness to learn</li>
</ul>
<p><b>Assets:</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience working in or with First Nations, governments, NGOs, or community organizations</li>
<li>Familiarity with adult education or training environments</li>
<li>Knowledge of or experience with trauma-informed or culturally responsive practices</li>
</ul>
