Job Description
<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>Calian is seeking a part-time psychiatrist to provide clinical services to Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members at an exclusive clinic for active-duty military members. This specialized clinic is located at 1200 Colville Road and provides a range of healthcare services in a multi-disciplinary, shared-care clinic. As a psychiatrist in this exclusive clinic, you’ll be part of a team of mental health professionals providing high quality care and contributing to the health and well-being of military members.</p>
<p>Clinic operating hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30am to 4pm. We’re seeking a psychiatrist who can commit to a regular scheduled days each week. 0.5 FTE available.</p>
<p>Compensation offered: The hourly rate ranges between $240-$250 per hour for this shared-care model.</p>

<h3>Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Conduct psychiatric assessments, provide diagnoses based on DSM, and treat a variety of mental health conditions including trauma-related, depressive, anxiety, substance-related, and addictive disorders.</li>
<li>Prepare detailed written psychiatric assessment reports with treatment plan recommendations; support implementation of the treatment plan through psychotherapy, prescribing appropriate somatic therapy, and maintaining patient records for the multidisciplinary team.</li>
<li>Advise on operational readiness, return to work, prognosis, impairment, and restrictions.</li>
<li>Conduct psychopharmacological treatment and evidence-based therapies such as CBT; respond to emergencies and crises.</li>
<li>Conduct telemedicine assessments and interventions.</li>
<li>Provide clinical preceptorship and educational sessions for staff.</li>
<li>Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary mental health team in case reviews.</li>
<li>Provide expert mental health guidance to primary care providers to aid in identification, diagnosis, and treatment.</li>
<li>Create and maintain patient records.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Registered and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia</li>
<li>Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Psychiatry</li>
<li>Experience providing psychiatric services to adults aged 18-60</li>
<li>Experience delivering psychiatric services for trauma-related, depressive, anxiety, substance-related and addictive disorders</li>
</ul>
<h3>Additional Requirements</h3>
<ul>
<li>Must obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level</li>
