Refrigeration Operator / Class B Engineer
Full-Time | Permanent | Non-Unionized
Compensation: $41.00/hour
Location: Burlington ,ON
Schedule: 2/2/3 rotating shift (12-hour days/nights)

Week 1: 48 hours

Week 2: 36 hours
Key Responsibilities
-
Ensure compliance with TSSA regulations at all times.
-
Perform routine maintenance on boilers, refrigeration systems, HVAC, fuel, water treatment, compressed air systems, auxiliaries, and distribution systems.

Conduct housekeeping and maintenance throughout the plant.

Install mechanical systems and assist Industrial Mechanic Millwrights as needed.

Calibrate, adjust, and maintain:
-
Heating/cooling systems
-
Brine chillers
-
Humidification and air handling equipment
-
Kemco hot water system
-
High-pressure hoses and pumps
-
Scald and de-hair tank systems
Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems.
Install and repair piping systems (water, drainage, compressed air, and ammonia).
Detect leaks, set and adjust controls and regulators, and ensure proper equipment operation.
Replace and maintain mechanical components and controls as required.
Monitor and record flow rates, pressures, and temperatures to maintain cold chain integrity.
Ensure safe use and storage of approved chemicals.
Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), ensuring maintenance and temporary repairs meet food safety standards.
Communicate with Sanitation and Production teams upon completion of repairs to enable proper cleaning and sanitization.
Complete inventory, maintenance, and compliance records in computerized systems.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

High School Diploma (or equivalent).

Valid 3rd Class Operating Engineer License / Refrigeration B Operator License.

Minimum 6,000 hours of related experience.

Proficient with all mechanical hand tools and power tools.

Strong troubleshooting and repair skills (mechanical & electrical).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Basic computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

$350 annual tool allowance (with receipts)

$200 annual boot allowance (with receipts)
Time Off:
3 weeks’ vacation annually
2 personal days per year (per company policy)
