
Job Description
The role will be remote; work must be done within Alberta due to network and data security issues. The frequency of on-site meetings could be up to 3-4 times per fiscal year.
Duties
- Design, build and deploy effective data migration packages utilizing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Write stored procedures, triggers and user defined functions using Microsoft SQL Server/T-SQL to extract, transform and load legacy data.
- Build Business Intelligence solutions in a collaborative, agile development environment.
- Write application code using .NET C# and Microsoft SQL with the ability to create both desktop and web based interfaces.
- Integrate SSIS packages with D365 CRM (Customer Service) or D365 Finance (formerly AX) to load the transformed data into the new application.
- Create automated release packages and ensure data migration solutions are added to the department’s source control system as per ministry standards.
- Use discretion and make sound decisions while working with a minimal amount of direction while being pro-active in keeping their management informed of project related issues.
- Communicate project status and issues to the program and client management.
- Respectfully question ideas and share a point of view with others in support of the business requirements and needs.
- Utilize an agile methodology such as Kanban, Scrum, or SAFe to organize workload and to short iterations with rapid feedback loops.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities when transforming the legacy data.
- Produce technical documentation and reference materials.
- Produce database ERD diagrams and systems design manuals.
- Perform unit and integration testing.
- Participate in release and iteration plans.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by the Project Manager.
