Job Description

Overview


ALT is partnering with a financial services institution headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario. This client seeks a Senior Legal Counsel on a 12-month contract to add to the small but growing legal department. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will be involved in the day-to-day legal operations of the company. In particular, you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, as well as addressing matters related to privacy law, regulatory compliance, and other relevant areas.

  • Addressing matters related to privacy law, regulatory compliance, and other relevant areas


Qualifications



  • 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Insurance regulatory experience will be considered an asset

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex concepts in clear, easily understandable terms to a diverse range of audiences


Employment details



  • Contract

  • Hybrid position; two-day-per-week in-office model; travel to Cambridge, Ontario, 2-3 times per month
