
Job Description
Location: Flexible across British Columbia (Langley, Victoria, Burnaby, or Nanaimo preferred; other BC locations considered with travel to offices as required)
Overview
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support municipal water and wastewater projects across British Columbia. This role will focus on process-mechanical systems for treatment facilities, pump stations, reservoirs, and related infrastructure. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, project management, and mentorship while working with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technologists, and project managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage projects of varying size and complexity, including budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
- Oversee the design of water and wastewater systems, including preparation of process flow diagrams, P&IDs, specifications, and reports.
- Provide guidance, reviews, and quality control for deliverables prepared by other team members.
- Support construction administration, including field reviews, commissioning, and responding to technical inquiries.
- Contribute to proposals, business development activities, and client relationship management.
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and coordinate design staff to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
Qualifications
- P.Eng. designation (or eligible for registration in BC).
- 5–10 years of experience in mechanical and process design for water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of BC design standards and construction practices.
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary projects and coordinating with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring skills.
Assets
- Experience with alternative project delivery methods.
- Familiarity with design collaboration tools (e.g., ACC, Navisworks, Bluebeam).
- Knowledge of water/wastewater standards in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
