This includes rebuilding webpages, collecting and refining content, and working closely with stakeholders within Student Experience. </p><p>The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with experience in digital content, website structure, and accessibility standards. This temporary, full-time position plays a key role in enhancing the Student Experience web presence and ensuring consistent, high-quality user experience across all related web properties.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><p>Website Rebuild & Migration</p><ul><li>Rebuilds webpages in the new website template using the designated content management system (CMS)</li><li>Reviews and updates existing content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with current priorities</li><li>Ensures all content adheres to web accessibility standards (AODA/WCAG) and usability principles</li><li>Coordinates the migration of web content from outdated pages and websites to the new template structure</li><li>Conducts quality assurance checks to ensure all links, images, and embedded elements are functional and correctly formatted</li><li>Maintains consistency with the Western brand guidelines, tone, and digital style</li></ul><p>Content Coordination</p><ul><li>Collaborates with internal departments and stakeholders to gather content and source missing information</li><li>Advises stakeholders on best practices for structuring and presenting web content</li><li>Supports content optimization for search engines (SEO) and overall readability</li><li>Tracks progress of content migration tasks and contributes to project reporting and workflow documentation</li></ul><p>Digital Communications & Strategy Support</p><ul><li>Participates in regular team meetings to align priorities and resolve content or technical challenges</li><li>Provides recommendations on content structure, site architecture, or layout improvements during the rebuild</li><li>Contributes to the continuous improvement of web content strategy, based on user experience and analytics insights</li><li>Stays current with digital communications trends, particularly in accessibility, design, and user engagement</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><p>Education</p><ul><li>Post-secondary education in communications, digital media, web development, or a related field</li></ul><p>Experience</p><ul><li>1–3 years of experience working with websites, digital content, or CMS platforms (Drupal, WordPress, etc.)</li></ul><p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</p><ul><li>Ability to rebuild pages in CMS, troubleshoot formatting issues, and conduct quality assurance check (links, images, embedded content)</li><li>Excellent written communication and editorial skills with a strong attention to detail</li><li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment</li><li>Creative problem-solving skills and sound professional judgment</li><li>Possesses a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative</li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities</li><li>Builds positive relationships with departments and balances different perspectives while maintaining standards</li><li>Ability to learn new systems, templates, or digital tools quickly as the rebuild progresses</li><li>Experience working in a higher education, public sector, or large institutional environment is an asset</li><li>Familiarity with HTML/CSS, web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics), and SEO best practices considered an asset</li><li>Knowledge of Canadian web accessibility standards (AODA, WCAG 2.1)</li></ul><h2>Why Western?</h2><br><p>Western offers a broad and exciting variety of part-time and temporary employment opportunities with ample room for job exploration and growth.
