<h2>Position: Welder / Fitter (Full-Time) </h2>
Company: SPS West (Instrumentation) Inc.

Department: Manufacturing / Fabrication 
Reports To: Shop Supervisor / Manufacturing Manager 
<hr> <h3>Position Overview </h3>SPS West is seeking a full-time Welder/Fitter to support in-house fabrication of industrial equipment and assemblies. This role is hands-on and production-focused, requiring strong TIG and MIG welding skills across carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Journeyman certification is not required; demonstrated skill, reliability, and pride in workmanship are non-negotiable. 
<hr> <h3>Key Responsibilities </h3><ul><li>Perform TIG and MIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components </li><li>Fit, tack, and weld parts based on drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions </li><li>Fabricate small to medium-sized assemblies, frames, enclosures, and custom components </li><li>Maintain weld quality to internal standards (appearance, penetration, consistency) </li><li>Work collaboratively with shop leads, engineers, and other trades </li><li>Assist with general fabrication tasks as required (cutting, grinding, drilling, assembly) </li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area </li><li>Follow shop safety procedures and quality expectations </li></ul>
<hr> <h3>Required Skills & Experience </h3><ul><li>Strong TIG and MIG welding experience (shop or industrial environment) </li><li>Proven ability to weld: <ul><li>Carbon steel </li><li>Stainless steel </li><li>Aluminum </li></ul></li><li>Ability to read basic fabrication drawings and measurements </li><li>Comfortable fitting parts before welding </li><li>Solid understanding of weld preparation, joint types, and distortion control </li><li>Reliable, punctual, and accountable </li></ul>
<hr> <h3>Preferred (Nice-to-Have) </h3><ul><li>Experience with light structural fabrication or enclosures </li><li>Experience working with thin-gauge materials </li><li>Forklift or shop equipment experience </li><li>Pressure welding experience (not required) </li></ul>
