About Whitby Swimming

Whitby Swimming is one of the fastest-growing competitive clubs in Durham Region, serving more than 175 athletes ranging from pre-competitive swimmers to provincial and national performers. With the new North Whitby Sports Complex opening in early 2026, we are entering a major expansion phase and are strengthening our coaching team to meet increasing demand and elevate program excellence.

What This Role Offers

• A stable, professionally-run program with an experienced Head Coach.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead 1–2 competitive groups, including planning season structure, practices, and competition schedules.
• Deliver engaging, technically sound, age-appropriate coaching at practices and meets.
• Track athlete progress, attendance, and performance; support athletes in goal-setting and long-term development.
• Communicate professionally with athletes, families, and staff.
• Contribute to team culture and club-wide initiatives.
• Collaborate with the Head Coach on overall program development.

Qualifications

• NCCP Swimming 101 certified (Swim Ontario Fundamental Coach Certification)
• Experience coaching age group or youth competitive swimmers.
• Strong technical knowledge in all strokes and youth training principles.
• Good communicator with strong leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a coaching team.
• Experience as a competitive swimmer an asset.
• CSCA member (or willing to become one).
• Vulnerable Sector Check required.
• Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
