<p><h3>Overview</h3><p>AMJASL235-Java Application Support Lead – AWS</p><p>Join to apply for the <b>AMJASL235-Java Application Support Lead – AWS</b> role at <b>S M Software Solutions Inc</b></p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>L1 & L2 Support: Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a similar support role (Incident Management, Problem Management, Service Request Management, including troubleshooting complex issues in cloud environments).</li><li>Provide strong hands-on support for AWS cloud services (EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, AWS Transfer Family, etc.), Java Spring Boot microservices and cloud monitoring tools.</li><li>Proficient in ITIL practices — Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management.</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and RCA skills, especially in production environments; diagnose issues in Java-based applications in a cloud environment.</li><li>Ability to understand, troubleshoot, and diagnose issues in Java-based applications or platforms, especially in a cloud environment.</li><li>Proactively monitor production systems and ensure stability and reliability; lead problem resolution and root cause analysis.</li><li>Mentor and lead junior team members; effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Work in rotating shifts to ensure 24/7 support coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.</li></ul><h3>Technical Expertise</h3><ul><li>Deep understanding of cloud-native application support in AWS.</li><li>Expertise with application monitoring tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog).</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and RCA skills in production environments; familiarity with cloud troubleshooting methodologies and tools for cloud infrastructure.</li><li>Proficiency in scripting or automation using Python, Bash, YAML, and Terraform is a plus.</li><li>Understanding of Java and ability to diagnose issues in Java-based applications in a cloud environment.</li></ul><h3>Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting</h3><ul><li>Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with cloud-based infrastructure and applications.</li><li>Analytical mindset with logical problem-solving skills under pressure.</li></ul><h3>Soft Skills</h3><ul><li>Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.</li><li>Attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving problems.</li><li>Ownership and accountability for production system stability.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Experience: 10+ years in a similar Java/AWS support role with incident, problem, and change management.</li><li>Java, Spring Boot, microservices, AWS experience; strong debugging skills (thread dumps, memory leaks, DB slowdowns).</li><li>Proficiency with Splunk; familiarity with monitoring and cloud-native tools.</li></ul><h3>Additional Details</h3><ul><li>Client – S&P Global</li><li>Office location: Canada, Remote</li><li>Type: Full-time</li><li>Visa status and other documents as part of the application process (see required documents below).</li></ul><h3>Application & Eligibility</h3><ul><li>Required documents: Updated Resume (Word), Skills Matrix and References, Expected hourly rate, Visa Status, LinkedIn ID.</li><li>Send applications to hrsmss@smsoftconsulting.com; without mandatory documents, we cannot submit a candidate.</li></ul><p>Please only apply if you meet the qualifications mentioned above.
