Applications Analyst - Microsoft Dynamics 365
1-2 days onsite Vancouver
6 months contract or Full time permanent option
About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Applications Analyst with strong expertise in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 ecosystem, especially Business Central and D365 Field Service. In this role, you will support and enhance the company's finance, operations, and field service functions by configuring systems, improving processes, and ensuring smooth data flows across connected applications.
You'll work across both strategic projects (implementations, data migrations, integrations) and ongoing operational support, helping create a reliable, scalable Dynamics environment.
What You Will Do
Systems Analysis & Design
- Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into functional and technical requirements.
- Create and maintain documentation such as data models, field mappings, process flows, and system architecture.
- Identify process gaps and recommend improvements, including opportunities to use Power Platform and AI-driven features.
Configuration & Integration
- Configure and support D365 Business Central and D365 Field Service.
- Build workflow automations with Power Automate and create basic Power Apps.
- Maintain system configurations (workflows, approvals, field changes, logic updates).
- Manage security roles, permissions, and environment governance within Dynamics and Power Platform.
Data Migration & Reporting
- Support data migration activities, ensuring accuracy, validation, and compliance with standards.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and run SQL queries to analyze or troubleshoot data.
Testing, Support & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and release validation.
- Troubleshoot issues across Business Central, Field Service, and Power Platform workflows.
- Address integration issues (failed runs, sync errors) and escalate complex problems when needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of hands-on Microsoft Dynamics experience, including configuration and implementation of:
- D365 Business Central (ERP, financial or operational modules, field service or inventory workflows)
- D365 Field Service
- Strong experience configuring processes and operational logic in Dynamics.
- Hands-on experience with Power Automate, Power Apps, or similar low-code tools.
- Proficiency with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, visualization) and solid SQL skills.
- Strong background in data management, validation, and reconciliation across ERP and related systems.
- Understanding of integrations (APIs, connectors, sync processes) and ability to monitor/troubleshoot issues.
- Experience designing business workflows and writing clear functional/technical documentation.
