Job Description

<p><p>The Faculty of Science invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Environmental Sciences. We seek innovative and dedicated scholars who will contribute to our research and teaching in the field of Canadian Environmental Studies, with a focus on sustainability, climate change, and indigenous land stewardship.</p>
<h3>Key Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Environmental Studies, with a focus on Canadian contexts.</li>
<li>Conduct original research that advances knowledge in environmental science, policy, or social dimensions of environmental issues relevant to Canada.</li>
<li>Supervise and mentor students at both undergraduate and graduate levels.</li>
<li>Collaborate with faculty across disciplines and engage with local communities, Indigenous groups, and stakeholders to address pressing environmental challenges.</li>
<li>Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university service, including committee work and outreach initiatives.</li>
<li>Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.</li>

<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>A PhD in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Geography, or a related field (completed by the start date).</li>
<li>A demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and innovative pedagogical approaches.</li>
<li>Evidence of a strong research program with potential for external funding.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Canadian environmental policies, practices, and indigenous perspectives is essential.</li>
<li>Ability to engage effectively with diverse populations and foster an inclusive learning environment.</li>
