Insurance Account Representative - Desjardins Agent Team Member

Location: Steeles Ave. E. & Hwy. 404 - Thornhill/Markham
Type: Full Time, Permanent

Position Overview:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop leads, schedule appointments, identify customer needs, and market appropriate products and services.
  • Provide prompt, accurate, and friendly customer service. Service can include responding to inquiries regarding insurance availability, eligibility, coverages, policy changes, transfers, claim submissions and billing clarification.
  • Take personal responsibility for contributing your fair share to the team's daily, weekly, monthly, and annual, sales and service goals. Only apply if you are the type of person who makes things happen - you will be rewarded. Those who want to just show up each day, and wait to see what happens, who calls, or walks in, need not apply - you won't like it here, because we don't like people who don't carry their weight.

Requirements:

  • Sales experience preferred (outside sales or inside sales representative, retail sales associate, or telemarketing).
  • Track record of exceeding sales goals/quotas preferred- HIGH ACHIEVERS ONLY - NO FREELOADERS.
  • Fluent in English and one other language (written, verbal, and listening)
  • Friendly, ethical, polite, and outgoing personality- likes interacting with clients
  • Proactive in setting goals, priorities, and in problem-solving.
  • Dedicated to serving our clients protection needs
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment, and correctly identify and take action on highest priority activities first, ahead of lower priority items.
  • Ability to explain, and educate clients about potential risks, and the appropriate insurance protection solutions.
  • Property & Casualty license (must be able to obtain soon after hiring)
  • Life and Accident & Sickness license (must be able to obtain soon after hiring)

These positions are with an independent contractor agent that is part of the Desjardins exclusive agent network, not with Desjardins Group or its subsidiaries. This agents’ employees are not employees of Desjardins. Independent contractor agents are responsible for and make all employment decisions regarding their employees.
