BANAC works in cooperation with communities in areas of concern where coordinated efforts are required to meet the needs which positively impact the region. BANAC will continue in the health and social planning capacity, offering consultation and support for our community development. BANAC offers many innovative programs and services including Family Wellness, Childcare, Seniors Care and Long-Term Care, Cultural Services, and wholistic Health Services through the Mamaway Wiidokdaadwin Indigenous Interprofessional Primary Care Team.<br /></p><p></p><p>About the Role:</p><p>The childcare Classroom Assistant Supply Staff will be in the classroom with the children assisting the Early Childhood Educators with programming, creating a safe environment, caring for the children, maintaining classroom cleanliness, conducting daily duties such as serving meals, changing diapers, writing daily reports, recording attendance, engaging in play, assisting to put children to sleep, and communicating with peers and parents. </p><p></p><p>What You Bring:</p><p> A minimum of two years experience in childcare or work-related field</p><p> Valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen<br /></p><p> Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Level C (infant/child)<br /></p><p> Some knowledge of the CCEYA and licensing act<br /></p><p> Familiar with How Does Learning Happen?<br /></p><p> Experience working with children ages 0 months - 5 years<br /></p><p> Up to date immunizations (Tetanus and MMR)<br /></p><p> Workers Health and Safety Awareness Certificate<br /></p><p> Food Handlers Certificate preferred<br /></p><p></p><p>What We Offer:</p><p>We provide, paid vacation, cultural leave based on hours worked, the potential for training opportunities and the opportunity to work in a dynamic community-based environment. </p><p></p><p>We are happy to connect candidates selected for interviews with a member of the hiring team to ask questions about the role and work experience at BANAC. </p><p></p><p>Information About Working at Biinoojinsauk Child Care Centre:</p><p> Work is typically performed in childcare setting</p><p> Light to moderate physical activity (lifting, bending, etc.)</p><p> Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons</p><p> Regular overtime work may be required from time to time to meet ratio.</p><p> Periodic exposure to smoke may occur from the burning of sacred medicines: sweet grass, sage or cedar. </p><p> Up-to-date Immunization Record, Including recent negative Tb Skin Test Results<br /></p><p></p><p>Specific employment conditions are specified in an employment contract with BANAC and include the following:</p><p> Worksite location</p><p> Valid C.P.R. first aid level C Certificates required </p><p> Valid Class G Ontario Drivers License is required with clear check for vulnerable sector</p><p></p><p>Applying to this Job:</p><p>Please apply directly to this position on the Barrie Area Native Advisory Circle careers webpage at <span >www.banac.on.ca/careers.</span></p><p></p><p></p><p>DISCLAIMER: This job posting indicates the general nature and level of work expected.
