About us

We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Construction Claims Specialist to join our team and manage all aspects of insurance and contract-related claims arising across our residential and low-rise development projects. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between our operations, legal, and insurance partners, ensuring efficient claim handling, accurate documentation, and risk mitigation across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end process of construction-related claims (e.g., builder's risk, property damage, CGL, third-party liability, and professional liability claims).
  • Analyze contract documentation, site reports, and technical records for both high-rise and low-rise developments to assess and support claim submissions.
  • Serve as the internal point of contact for insurance brokers, claims adjusters, legal counsel, consultants, and site teams.
  • Prepare claim reports, cost breakdowns, incident narratives, and evidence packages in coordination with project managers and site supervisors.
  • Monitor claim status and work to ensure timely and favorable resolution of claims.
  • Support the legal and construction teams in dispute resolution processes including mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Identify areas of contractual or operational exposure and provide input on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Review and advise on insurance provisions in contracts and subcontracts to ensure adequate coverage for each project.
  • Stay up to date with applicable legislation including the Ontario Construction Act, Tarion Warranty Program, Building Code, and WSIB regulations.

Job Requirement:

  • Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Law, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in construction claims, contract administration, or insurance/risk management, preferably within the Ontario residential construction sector.
  • Experience working with both low-rise (townhomes, stacked units) and high-rise (condos, mixed-use towers) developments.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario Construction Act and relevant construction case law and claims processes through WSIB and Tarion Warranty
