<p><h3><b>Design Manager</b></h3>
<p>Sedgman is seeking an experienced <b>Engineering Design Manager</b> to join our Vancouver office.</p>
<p>The <b>Engineering Design Manager</b> will manage a multidisciplinary team and lead major design projects, ensuring technical, time, budget, and quality objectives are met, and maintaining client relationships while providing critical mineral processing technical expertise.</p>
<h3>Main Responsibilities</h3>
<ul>
<li>Manage multidisciplinary team and programme workloads, providing technical and administrative guidance to Design Engineering staff.</li>
<li>In conjunction with Management, provide resource planning to ensure resource requirements for the project’s design are met.</li>
<li>Prepare Design Management Plans and manage implementation on projects.</li>
<li>Monitor and evaluate work to ensure it meets technical and performance requirements.</li>
<li>Direct and lead process engineering; monitor design delivery to ensure outcomes support technical leadership strategy.</li>
<li>Identify, investigate, record, monitor and report on actions, resolution and costs of identified design non‑conformances.</li>
<li>Administer technical briefs for sub‑consultant engagement.</li>
<li>Coordinate design interfaces with the client’s other designers as required.</li>
<li>Drive solutions to increase probability of winning work, and allow delivery against strategy.</li>
<li>Recognize and promote technical innovation; identify suitable technical partners for advancement in innovation.</li>
<li>Actively mentor and create opportunities for knowledge sharing across the group.</li>
<li>Select and monitor performance of external consultants.</li>
<li>Ensure authorisation and issuance of documents and drawings to the project team, vendors, sub‑consultants, statutory authorities and others as necessary.</li>
<li>Manage updates to Sedgman standard specifications, typical/standard drawings, and calculations/simulations to reflect current industry standards or project requirements.</li>
<li>Manage NCRs, lessons learned, and continuous improvement.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor of Engineering.</li>
<li>Professional Engineering designation (preferably BC or another Canadian jurisdiction).</li>
<li>Minimum 10 years relevant work experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.</li>
<li>Extensive knowledge and practices in the organization and execution of engineering projects.</li>
<li>Prior experience in project management considered an asset.</li>
<li>Previous experience leading and managing technical/project teams.</li>
<li>Mining & Minerals, or heavy industry experience highly desired.</li>
<li>MS Office suite, MS Project skills required.</li>
<li>Eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship.</li>

<p>Salary: CAD 160,000 - 200,000 (considered based on education, experience, skills, and market conditions).</p>
