Job Description
Siemens DI SW is looking for a DevOps Principal Engineer with broad cloud experience who will be responsible for maintaining, executing, and deploying external cloud environments for customers and engineering divisions. Selected candidates will assume immediate roles in support of EDA cloud initiatives within DI SW and become an integral part of the cloud enablement team, focused on creating managed services and customer environments. The role requires a deep understanding of infrastructure services in AWS, Azure, and GCP, and integration within a secure enterprise network.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop Managed Cloud Services utilizing knowledge of cloud architecture, OS, virtualization, containers, orchestration, and scalability.
- Ensure high availability of secure environments in external cloud space.
- Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting complex problems across private, public, and hybrid cloud models, documenting efforts and resolutions.
- Communicate with customers to resolve issues through investigative questioning.
- Configure hosts in secure environments using Linux and Windows, following industry best practices.
- Deploy highly secure environments, managing all project aspects from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to meet security and operational standards before granting access.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, IT, or relevant field.
- 3-5+ years supporting IT cloud solutions.
- Experience with DevOps tools: Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Packer, Git, Docker.
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows administration and scripting (Shell, PowerShell).
- Programming experience in Python or Golang.
- Experience with observability platforms (logs, metrics, traceability).
- Knowledge of data security, firewalls, multi-tenant environments.
- Strong problem-solving and incident resolution skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Commitment to quality and timely delivery.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with SRE principles: scalability, availability, maintainability.
- Certifications in cloud architecture and operations (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), network architecture, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, virtualization, and container platforms.
