We are a dynamic, fast-paced company driven by a culture of innovation and collaboration. Our team is committed to attracting and retaining top, diverse talent who share our vision of building a better, cleaner planet.

Job Summary

The Director of Mineral Processing – Mining Division is the technical lead for pH7's mining applications, responsible for the process design, scale-up strategy, and technical framework needed to deploy our technology at partner sites. This role will report directly to the Head of Mining and lead a growing team of process engineers and mining specialists, oversee metallurgical test work, define the technical basis for demonstration projects, and safeguard the integrity of field and commercial deployments. The Director of Mineral Processing works closely with the Metallurgical Lab, Project Delivery, Business Development, and Mining Operations teams to translate lab and column test data into field-ready designs and to support early-stage evaluations with mining partners.

This position is best suited to a senior process or metallurgical engineer with strong heap-leach or hydrometallurgical experience who wants to help shape and scale a new mining technology.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain the technical framework and scale-up strategy for pH7's mining applications, covering the full lifecycle from early test work (including column testing) through demonstration-scale operations and full commercial deployment.
  • Lead and mentor the Mining Technical Design team, overseeing process modelling, test interpretation, and the development of engineering deliverables.
  • Convert metallurgical and column test results into clear design inputs and operational guidance for internal teams and external engineering partners.
  • Set technical objectives and performance criteria for demonstration and commercial projects, providing direction throughout engineering, construction, and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Mining Operations to assess ore-body fit, evaluate new opportunities, and contribute technical insight during partner engagements.
  • Oversee process safety, ensuring safe operation of testing programs, hazard identification and mitigation, and alignment with corporate safety standards across all development and scale-up activities.

What You'll Need

  • Degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, Mining, or Process Engineering (or a related discipline).
  • Active P.Eng. designation or eligibility to reinstate a lapsed registration.
  • 15+ years of experience in mining process engineering, hydrometallurgy, or heap-leach operations.
  • Experience scaling a proven process from pilot stages to field deployment.
  • Strong understanding of heap-leach design, kinetics, solution management, and metallurgical testing.
  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and collaborate effectively with EPC/EPCM partners.

How You'll Stand Out

  • Experience with copper or gold heap leaching, mineral processing, or hydrometallurgical flowsheets.
  • Hands-on exposure to pilot plants, test pads, or demonstration-scale projects.
  • Background in early-stage technology commercialization or industrial scale-up environments.

Working Hours & Environment

This is a full-time, on-site leadership role with pH7 Technologies. The position is primarily located at our Metallurgical Lab, with occasional travel to other pH7 facilities as required.
