Job Description

Director of Preconstruction - Ground Improvement

We're looking for a Director of Preconstruction to lead all front-end planning for ground improvement projects (e.g. densification, grouting, soil mixing, vibro stone columns).


What you'll do

  • Lead preconstruction strategy for ground improvement projects from RFQ/RFP through hand-off to operations.
  • Work with estimating, engineering, and operations to develop concepts, budgets, and value-engineered solutions.
  • Review geotechnical reports, identify risks and opportunities, and shape winning technical approaches.
  • Build and maintain relationships with owners, GCs, and consultants; lead client presentations and interviews.
  • Standardize preconstruction processes, tools, and reporting to improve predictability and hit-rate.


What you bring

  • 8-12+ years' experience in geotechnical / ground improvement / deep foundations, with a strong preconstruction or estimating focus.
  • Solid understanding of soil behavior, ground improvement techniques, and construction sequencing.
  • Proven track record leading multi-disciplinary pursuit teams on complex infrastructure or commercial/industrial projects.
  • Strong commercial mindset: risk management, pricing strategy, and contract awareness.
  • Clear, confident communicator who can influence at all levels (internal and client-facing).
