You will engage with transportation, municipal, institutional, and commercial building projects. As an intermediate‑level role, you will be a key technical resource and mentor junior engineers and EITs in engineering drawings and design.</p>

<h3>What you can expect to do here</h3>
<ul>
<li>Electrical design of power distribution, fire alarm, grounding, lightning protection, lighting control, UPS, emergency power, and generators for land, air, and water transportation projects.</li>
<li>Complete understanding of Electrical Engineering requirements for Building and Site design.</li>
<li>Interdisciplinary coordination with Lighting, Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Site Services, Signaling, Architectural, Project Management, and Construction Management disciplines.</li>
<li>Review and seal lighting design and control systems for building permits and construction.</li>
<li>Perform individually and as a team member within the electrical discipline.</li>
<li>Apply project management knowledge including reporting, financials, and resourcing.</li>
<li>Take ownership of small‑size projects as a project manager and design engineer throughout the project life cycle.</li>
</ul>
<h3>What you’ll bring to WSP</h3>
<ul>
<li>Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and registered P.Eng. with PEO.</li>
<li>5 to 7 years’ of direct experience designing electrical systems for buildings, transportation, commercial, and industrial projects.</li>
<li>Extensive understanding of building electrical engineering requirements, utility companies, authorities having jurisdiction, and applicable codes and standards (Ontario Building Code, CSA, ASHRAE, IESNA, IEEE, OESC, CEC, NFPA, etc.).</li>
<li>Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with team members and other disciplines.</li>
<li>Thorough understanding of project management technical requirements to prepare schedules and resourcing. Master’s degree and PMP certification are plus.</li>
