This role works closely with the owner, design consultant and project manager to prepare cost plans, undertake value engineering, complete cost saving exercises and develop the project budget. The Preconstruction Estimator will follow ACL estimating and quality procedures and adhere to the Alberici Subcontractor Fairness Policy.</p><p></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and maintain positive working relationships with owners and their agents.</li><li>Produce detailed quantity take-offs and price labour, material and equipment portions of estimates.</li><li>Develop and maintain relationships with <span >suppliers/subcontractors</span> to ensure competitive pricing.</li><li>Manage the estimating process including site conditions, safety requirements, and interpretation of <span >drawings/specifications.</span></li><li>Identify and quantify potential project risks and assist management with risk analysis.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Pre-Construction Procurement</strong></p><ul><li>Lead internal construction project start-up meetings and administrative setup.</li><li>Develop procurement plans, labour/equipment forecasts, logistics plans, and project risk registers.</li><li>Create bid packages including scopes of work, drawings, and specifications.</li><li>Monitor and maintain preconstruction schedules.</li><li>Participate in design, constructability, and value engineering reviews.</li><li>Prepare and manage project budgets and estimates during design development.</li><li>Oversee tendering, risk assessment, and award recommendation processes.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Strong communication and presentation skills.</li><li>Ability to interpret technical documents and instructions.</li><li>Proficiency in mathematical concepts and problem-solving.</li><li>Ability to manage time and activities efficiently.</li><li>Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Qualifications & Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Post-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Management or related field plus 5-10 years experience.</li><li>Managerial experience is considered an asset.</li><li>Experience in various contract models including design-bid-build and progressive design-build is preferred.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>Certificates, Licences</strong><strong>, Registrations </strong></p><ul><li>E.T, Gold Seal Certification in Estimating and/or Project Management is preferred.</li></ul><p></p><p><em>Alberici is a North American company with multiple Operating Companies:</em></p><p><em>Alberici Constructors, Inc., Alberici Constructors, LTD., Alberici Construcciones, BRC, CAS Constructors, Filanc, Flintco, Hillsdale Fabricators, Kienlen Constructors, and WWPS</em></p><p></p></p></p>Create Your Resume First
