Our client located in Chilliwack, provides service to marine and industrial clients from around the globe.
Our client is looking for a few energetic Fabricators to join the team in production.
The Fabricator is responsible for reading and analyzing blueprints and engineering drawings to correspond with the required metal cuts. You will use a variety of light and heavy machinery to make the necessary cuts and to assemble the fabricated components into complete units. This is an entry level position and will train the right candidate.
You will:
- Operate light machinery, including grinders, sanders, cordless drills and a variation of saws and routers
- Analyze blueprints and engineering drawings to assess materials needed and plan the sequence of tasks to fabricate products
- Install fabricated components in the final product
- Monitor quality of fabrication
- Adhere to all safety standards and standard operating procedures
You have:
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure
- Dexterity and familiarity with power tools
- Basic knowledge of fabrication
- Basic mechanical skills
- Basic math skills
- High school education
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a related field
- Welding aluminum, steel mig/tig an asset, but not a requirement
- Level C ticket or Forklift certification an asset, but not a requirement
