About This Role

We are seeking a driven, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented Lawyer to join our Business Law team. The Business Law team currently makes up our largest group of Lawyers at the Firm and provides a great opportunity to both learn from highly experienced individuals, and knowledge-share with new and up-and-coming Lawyers. Our Business Law Lawyers provide legal services in a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Directly manage and run individual file load, providing legal services across a broad range of corporate, commercial, and/or real property matters.
  • Analyze complex legal issues and offer strategic advice, being a trusted advisor for clients.
  • Communicate promptly and effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively alongside other members of the Business Law team to ensure success in the entire practice.
  • Maintain accurate records of case files and documentation while ensuring confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Stay updated on changes in business law legislation and best practices to provide informed advice.


What You Bring

  • Experience:Juris Doctor (JD) or LL.B. degree from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in Nova Scotia. A minimum of 5-10 years of experience within Business Law.
  • Skills:Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and writing skills for drafting clear and persuasive legal documents. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
  • Mindset:Goal-oriented, critical thinker, problem solver, and team player with a positive attitude excited to contribute to a collaborative culture.
  • Tech Proficiency:Adept at using technology such as Outlook and Microsoft Office, with a talent for learning new software quickly.
