As a Maintenance Grade 2 (Nights) employee, you will carry out routine maintenance of TPA’s facilities and equipment, in addition to general maintenance duties. You will assume full responsibility for work schedules given and perform related work assigned, with minimum supervision. In addition, you will be required to work as a team with one or more fellow crew members while on the job. General maintenance duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Janitorial duties on lots and/or within garage i.e. sweeping, mopping, washing, scrubbing, garbage disposal/removal, and painting.
  • Clean garage floors, stairwells, washrooms, horizontal surfaces, booths, and other work areas
  • Operate all TPA vehicles, including snow ploughs, trucks, trailers, and specialist cleaning vehicles i.e. sweepers and scrubbers.
  • Perform other assigned duties as directed by their supervisor or designee. 
  • Promotes and exemplifies TPA’s Core Values.
  • This position is not within the scope of Payment Card Industry compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of High School or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have good communication skills, both orally and written. 
  • Must have good attendance record.
  • Must have and continue to be in possession of a valid driver’s license with a minimum of 3 consecutive years driving experience, have good driving record and be insurable at preferred rates. A driver’s abstract (current) must be submitted.
  • Must be prepared to drive all TPA vehicles, including trucks.
  • Must have a sound knowledge of operating different types of cleaning equipment such as Tennant/Yale sweepers and Tennant 550 scrubbers. 
  • Ability to do basic maintenance on the above equipment, such as cleaning of air filter, visual check of radiator, check oil level, check, and clean dust filters. 
  • Ability to conduct snow plough operations as appropriate.
  • Internal candidates: Employees must have at least one (1) year of continuous service in their current role to be eligible for application.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Employees applying for this position will be assigned to perform other related duties as directed by the Manager, Parking Operations and Maintenance, or their designee. Selected applicant will be required to work the midnight shift with rotating days off and must be willing to work any other shift and/or location as required.

HOURS OF WORK:
40 hours per week

HOURLY WAGE:
$31.57
