Job Description
Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Manager, Business Development (TGP Business Development) on a permanent basis, part of the Independent Business team. This hybrid position can be based anywhere in Western Canada and requires up to 50% travel within Western Canada.
What you’ll do
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and convert prospects into clients.
- Increase The Grocery People (TGP) brand visibility by attending industry events, conducting market calls, and building relationships internally and externally.
- Analyze industry trends and data to identify improvements, lead cross‑functional initiatives, and present strategic recommendations.
- Set and monitor operational standards, support teams with coaching and resources, and provide leadership through training and performance development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to align strategies, support growth initiatives, and ensure seamless execution across the business.
Who you’ll work with
The Team: In addition to direct involvement in business development activities to grow wholesale business, you will lead a team of Sales Leads/Managers to grow sales in their areas of the business and report into the Director, Independent Business. This team strives to cultivate a culture that is collaborative, results‑oriented, and client centric.
The Customers: You will demonstrate customer focus while identifying and pursuing new growth opportunities that strengthen the business.
Why it matters: We help feed Western Canada by providing fresh groceries and wholesale solutions to independent retail stores, restaurants and other food establishments in communities large and small.
Who you are
- Have 6+ years of relevant experience in Business‑to‑Business (B2B) sales and/or working with independent retailers.
- Have a bachelor’s degree in commerce/business (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
