This role combines purchasing execution, supplier coordination, and administrative accuracy to keep production running efficiently and without disruption.</p><p>Working closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams, the Manufacturing Purchaser manages procurement activities from sourcing and purchase order creation through delivery tracking and documentation. You will proactively communicate material status, manage supplier performance, support cost-control initiatives, and maintain accurate ERP and quality records. Your work enables technical teams to focus on production while ensuring purchasing processes remain organized, responsive, and compliant.</p>RESPONSIBILITIES <p><strong>Procurement & Purchasing</strong></p><ul><li>Source, quote, and purchase raw materials, tooling, consumables, and outsourced services.</li><li>Issue accurate purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt.</li><li>Review internal and external BOMs and verify material requirements.</li><li>Maintain accurate vendor and purchasing information in the ERP system.</li></ul><p><strong>Supplier & Customer Interaction</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain vendor relationships and develop alternate supply options.</li><li>Negotiate pricing, delivery, and terms to support cost control.</li><li>Monitor supplier performance for quality, delivery reliability, and responsiveness, escalating recurring issues.</li><li>Support internal and external customer requests and provide timely material updates.</li></ul><p><strong>Quality & Documentation </strong></p><ul><li>Verify incoming materials meet ordered specifications.</li><li>Collect and file material certifications, packing slips, and traceability documents.</li><li>Facilitate returns and non-conformances when necessary.</li></ul><p><strong>Manufacturing Support & Communication </strong></p><ul><li>Respond quickly to urgent material needs.</li><li>Proactively communicate lead times, risks, shortages, and delays.</li><li>Support process improvements within purchasing and material handling.</li><li>Maintain organized digital and physical records to meet quality standards.</li></ul><p></p><p><strong>MEASUREABLES</strong></p><ul><li>Material Availability & PO Accuracy (combined) - 98% of materials delivered before production need date.</li><li>99% PO accuracy (correct specs, quantities, pricing, documentation).</li><li>Documentation Compliance - 100% of certs, packing slips, and traceability documents filed within 48 hours of receipt.</li><li>ERP data maintained at 100% accuracy for vendors and purchasing entries.</li><li>Communication Responsiveness - All delays, shortages, or risks communicated within 24 hours of becoming known.</li><li>Cost Management - Annual cost savings/cost avoidance targets met (e.g., 3–5%).</li><li>Expedited freight limited to target thresholds (you can define the figure).</li></ul><p></p><p><em>This description reflects management’s assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.
