Summary:
We are seeking a full-time 2nd or 3rd year Millwright apprentice at FET Quality Wireline. Under general supervision the Millwright Apprentice is responsible for assisting in the execution of the maintenance program for the facility, including performing preventative maintenance, breakdown, troubleshooting and repairs. In addition, this position assists with equipment installation and improvements. This position may participate in a rotational on call schedule. Completing all tasks in compliance with Forum’s HSE program and initiatives, ensuring our core value that No One Gets Hurt. May handle special projects as assigned.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, repair, and installation work with a high level of quality, workmanship, and attention to detail.
- Utilize and manage the CMSS (Computerized maintenance management system) to log all maintenance and repair activity.
- Assist in repair activities during machine changeovers (when possible) to reduce overall equipment downtime.
- Communicate/report on equipment performance issues and coordinate their activities when assisting with PM or repair activities.
- Ensure all Lock Out/Tag Out procedures are followed prior to beginning any repair/maintenance activity.
- Complete all preventative maintenance tasks.
- Assist in coordinating preventative maintenance and repairs to be completed by third parties, as needed.
- Actively participate in improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and efficiencies.
- Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained.
- Participate in the Health, Safety and Environment program, including adhering to all policies.
Skills/Knowledge
- Lean Manufacturing mindset: focused on removing waste to improve efficiency.
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable in troubleshooting environments.
- Ability to work as a team and independently as required.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Enrolled in a recognized millwright apprenticeship program required; preference for candidates with 2nd or 3rd year completed.
- Actively progressing toward journeyperson certification through formal training and on-the-job experience
Experience
- 1+ years’ experience in a Manufacturing or similar environment
- Prior experience related to facility maintenance considered an asset.
