We are seeking a Outside Plant (OSP) Engineering Team Lead for a 1-year Contract position.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts on various projects assigned to the department.
  • Coordinate project plans with team members.
  • Serve as the point of contact for customers when Division Managers are unavailable.
  • Keep customers informed and communicate changes to VistaCare team and Director of Engineering.
  • Monitor schedules, ensure deadlines are met, and develop contingency plans as needed.
  • Review work of team members to ensure proper timelines.
  • Discuss project timelines with Regional and Division Managers.
  • Read and interpret fiber network design drawings and outside plant records.
  • Collaborate with other teams to address project challenges and find solutions.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Manage multiple projects, resolve scheduling issues, and develop contingency plans.
  • Proficient with computers and quick to learn new software.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively in deadline-driven environments.
  • Understand telecommunications standards for different clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic knowledge of construction documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of current construction practices is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Additional Requirements
  • Pass a criminal record check.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
Experience Required
  • Minimum 2 years in Telecommunications or Fibre-to-the-Home design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Diploma of Technology, preferably in Telecommunications, Civil, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for designing and reviewing telecommunication networks.
  • Experience leading design teams, managing schedules, timelines, and resources.
