Payroll and Benefits Administrator
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Administrator to manage full-cycle payroll and benefits administration across multiple provinces. This role is ideal for someone who can confidently navigate complex payroll scenarios, has a strong foundation in payroll principles and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
- Ensure timely and accurate weekly payroll processing for up to 500 employees including hourly and salaried staff across Canada
- Maintain and update employee records related to compensation, benefits, and time tracking
- Manage payroll-related financial transactions, including journal entries, statutory remittances, benefit deductions, and regulatory filings, while maintaining compliance with applicable provincial and federal legislation
- Coordinate onboarding documentation and system setup to ensure a smooth and compliant onboarding experience
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits with professionalism, clarity and excellent customer service
- Assist with month-end duties as assigned, including reconciling payroll reports and other essential documentation
- 5+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or in progress is preferred, but not required
- Proficiency in Excel and payroll software (e.g. Ceridian Dayforce, ADP, Payworks)
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and payroll compliance requirements
- Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
