About the role:
The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for supporting the HR team. The successful candidate will be accountable for supporting the team in the following areas:

Main responsibilities include:

  • Enforce strong payroll controls and validation procedures to ensure compliance with eligibility rules, premiums, and overtime payments

  • Review timesheets, approvals, and supporting documentation for accuracy before payroll submission

  • Research payroll discrepancies

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried, union and non-union employees

  • Maintain accurate payroll and time & attendance records

  • Support period-end and year-end reconciliations and reporting, including T4s, WSIB, and audit support

  • Coordinate benefits administration, including enrollments, eligibility, premiums, and reconciliations

About the candidate:

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Experience and proficiency using Payroll systems, specifically ADP Workforce Now -
  • PCP (payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation is a strong asset
