- Essential Functions:
- Dementia companion
- Provide companionship and respite services for family
- Engage in meaningful activities with client
- Located in a retirement home
- Ability to redirect client
- Experience with gentle persuasion
- Dementia companion
- Social Skills
- Energetic and outwardly positive person
- Capable of supervising physical and mental exercise routines
- Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
- Successful completion of a Provincial-approved Personal Support Worker PSW course
- At leas 2 years experience as a Caregiver (in homes or facilities)
- Has a Police Vulnerable Sector Reference Check or willing to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
- Ability to do light-cleaning and lifting (transferring clients, repositioning, and laundry)
- Driver's License is an asset
