Position Overview

Calian is looking for an exceptional Primary Care Physician to join our team at CFB Halifax, one of Canada’s largest and most vibrant military bases. Whether you’re seeking a full‑time or part‑time position, this role offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive healthcare to Canada’s dedicated Armed Forces members.

As a physician at CFB Halifax, you’ll be at the heart of an interdisciplinary team, delivering a full spectrum of care to the men and women who serve our country. From primary and occupational health to minor trauma management, disease prevention, and rehabilitation, your work will directly contribute to the health, readiness, and well‑being of a highly motivated and appreciative patient population.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary medical care to patients with acute and chronic health conditions, including referral to other health care providers when warranted.


• Deliver occupational health services such as:
  
  
  
  • Referral of patients for participation in programs for the use of indicated personal protective devices – hearing conservation, respiratory protection program.
  
  
  • Communicate with Senior Medical Authority on relevant clinical matters such as CF Spectrum of Care, complex patients requiring multidisciplinary intervention, individual operational readiness.
  
  
  
  


• Maintain patient medical information in Electronic Health Record and patient health records.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.


• Certification in Family Medicine with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP).


• Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C.

Security Clearance

• Must obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.


• Security clearance and/or vulnerable sector screening may be required for this position; our recruiter will walk you through the process.
