Agropur is looking for a Project Engineer to join its team in St-Laurent.


Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, the Project Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of major investment projects for the Québec plant. They will design and optimize transformation processes to improve operational performance and add value to the organization.

  • Salary scale 006: $98 400 à $123 000 (Base salary will be determined based on your academic background, experience, training, and job‑related skills.)



What’s involved in this role:



  • Ensure technical and financial follow‑up of major projects assigned to them. Projects cover various fields (mechanical, process, building, utilities, etc.).


  • Design, study, and prepare investment requests, considering technical aspects and the impact on human and financial resources.


  • Manage tenders and contract issuance in collaboration with the Strategic Purchasing Department.


  • Plan and coordinate implementation and supervise associated work sites.


  • Lead work teams and manage technical resources required for successful project completion.


  • Work closely with the Plant Director and their team to prepare projects and ensure proper integration into operations (maintenance, training, performance stabilization, etc.).


  • Recommend operational optimizations and conduct technology watch to generate new projects.


  • Participate in analysis and recommendations for plant selection for new product manufacturing.



What you need to join our team:



  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or Automation) or another relevant discipline.


  • Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.


  • 5 to 10 years of experience in engineering and large‑scale project execution in the food processing or packaging sector.


  • Knowledge of dairy processes/food industry (an asset).


  • Good knowledge of MS Office Suite and AutoCAD.


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English (English required to work with colleagues from other Canadian provinces).
