Responsibilities

• Project Oversight – Lead project teams for one or more projects, manage all aspects of the project life cycle, and deliver on time and within budget.


• Relationship Management – Establish and maintain excellent relationships with owners, architects, consultants, trades, and the public; promote Buttcon’s services and ensure client satisfaction.


• Safety & Compliance – Ensure compliance with Buttcon’s Health and Safety Program, supervise, mentor, coach, and train project personnel, and conduct regular site reviews.


• Planning & Scheduling – Prepare baseline schedules, track delays, apply for Extensions of Time, and maintain schedule throughout the project.


• Tendering & Contract Management – Assist in trade contract awards, manage change orders, and resolve contractual and technical issues.


• Documentation & Reporting – Prepare monthly cost reports, status reports, submittal logs, and ensure proper documentation.


• Communication & Correspondence – Handle day‑to‑day correspondence, distribute site correspondence, and convene pre‑construction meetings.


• Project Completion – Apply for performance and total completion, handle deficiencies, and secure final payments.


• Business Development – Participate in estimates, proposals, and presentations to secure new work.

Qualifications & Skills

• Engineering degree (civil/construction/architectural) or technical college diploma in Construction Management or equivalent.


• Minimum 10 years of experience in the Canadian construction industry.


• Thorough knowledge of construction, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, cost control and contract administration.


• Strong safety standards and program ownership.


• Gold Seal Certified – asset.


• LEED Accredited – asset.


• Net Zero, WELL, and Passive House – asset.


• Computer literate – Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project; Suretrak, Primavera P3/P6 – asset.


• Axis Accounting Software, Procore and BIM software knowledge – asset.


• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.


• Project management software proficiency.


• Technical drawing and specification interpretation.


• Building code, regulation, and safety standards familiarity.


• Problem solving and decision making under pressure.
