Job Overview <br />We're looking for a talented and compassionate Registered Dental Assistant with at least 2 years of experience to become a key member of our patient-centered team. In this role, you'll contribute to high-quality care, support clinical operations, and help create a welcoming experience for every patient who walks through our door. Strong communication skills, a sharp eye for detail, and a genuine passion for dentistry are a must!<br /> What we are looking for! <br /> Assisting in Dental Procedures : Experience in assisting with a variety of dental procedures, such as fillings using our LightWalker laser, crowns (lab & CEREC), root canals, extractions, Invisalign and other orthodontic related treatments.<br /> Sterilization and Infection Control : Knowledge and experience in sterilizing dental instruments, setting up trays, and maintaining infection control protocols.<br /> X-ray Imaging : Experience in taking dental X-rays, including CBCT, Panoramic, iTero scans and intraoral pictures, in compliance with safety regulations.<br /> Maintain accurate patient records using our dental software (Oryx) training provided.<br /> Communication Skills : Experience in communicating effectively with patients, the doctors and all other team members, providing comfort during procedures, and explaining post-treatment care instructions.<br /> Assist in scheduling appointments and manage patient flow within the office.<br /> Support patients with a friendly demeanor to ensure their comfort during visits.<br /> Effective Time Management : Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy dental office setting while maintaining organization and efficiency.<br /> Professional Development : Participation in continuing education and training programs to stay updated on changes in dental practices, technologies, and infection control standards.<br /> Candidates should possess the following skills and experience: <br /> Minimum of 2 years of dental assisting experience.<br /> Must be registered and licensed with the Alberta Dental Association and College (ADA&C).<br /> A current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid is typically required.<br /> Proficiency in dental terminology.<br /> Excels at staying organized and focused in a dynamic, high-traffic dental office with a large team and a steady stream of patients.<br /> Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients of all ages.<br /> Attention to Detail : Strong attention to detail, especially in preparing treatment areas, handling instruments, and recording patient information accurately.<br /> Hours: <br />Tuesday Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (first patient starts at 8:30 AM)<br />Wednesday Shift: 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM (first patient starts at 10:30 AM)<br />Thursday Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (first patient starts at 8:30 AM)<br />Friday Shift: 6:30 AM - 2:00 PM (first patient starts at 7:00 AM)<br />Occasional Saturday Shift: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM (first patient starts at 8:00 AM)<br />Wage: TBD<br />Join our team and contribute to creating beautiful smiles while enhancing your professional growth in the dental field!<br />Job Type: Part-time<br />Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour<br />Expected hours: 30 - 35 per week<br />Benefits:<br /> Company events<br /> Dental care<br /> Extended health care<br /> On-site parking<br />Experience:<br /> Dental Assisting: 2 years (required)<br />Licence/Certification:<br /> with the College of Alberta Dental Assistants (CADA) (required)<br />Work Location: In person<br />Application deadline: 2025-12-23
